lyrics
You lie to me
You lie to you
What you believe
Is just a ruse
And someone else
Believes it too
And what's the use of searching for
A source of absent proof?
When there's a version of the facts
For every person in the room
I guess we're doomed
There's no pursuit that doesn't end
With someone else
Losing their views
Losing their faith
Losing their mind
Doing their best remaining blind
Doing their best staying behind
For the deluded
There's nothing to be done
For the deluded
There's no telling them they're wrong
For the deluded
No question answers faith
So it's pointless, they say
"There's nothing you can do"
That "nothing can be done"
For the deluded
There is nothing to be done
For the deluded
There's no telling them they're wrong
For the deluded
No question answers faith
So it's pointless, they say
"There's nothing you can do"
That "nothing can be done"
For the deluded
story
This is the first official single. It reads — or sounds — like a love song at first, but the lyrics abstract the notion of irrational belief. The song was remixed and regenerated a couple of dozen times before running across this particular version (the one that ended up published). The earlier drafts were more electronic, but something about this “duet” version resonated perfectly — in its ambiguity and its spirit.
